Within the clothing industry, large companies are constantly competing to produce the lowest cost products, maximizing their profit margins. However, there are few businesses that place environmental concerns above financial gains. Recover is among a handful of organizations that operate with the noble goal of producing eco-friendly garments.
Recover creates stylish clothes that are composed of post-consumer plastic bottles and recycled cotton from discarded industry scraps. Fibers are then knitted into fabric, yielding an astonishing 55 percent reduction in water consumption and a 35 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition to the ecologically sound production of clothing, Recover works with ethical manufacturing partners in the United States and Guatemala. The manufacturing facility in Guatemala, ambitious to help create a Greener planet, is powered by biomass that consists of wood chips, coffee extract, and other raw materials (recoverbrands.com). We, the Pacific Peak staff, are truly honored to be working with such an environmentally and socially responsible company.
